Recycling
In some cases, leftover items can’t be donated to nonprofits and charitable groups because not every item can be used for its intended purpose. But the good news is that many things can be recycled!
Recycling is just as fulfilling as donating items. Recycling benefits the earth by avoiding landfill usage and giving things a second life.
What can be recycled?
Recycling rules vary by region. Not every item can be recycled everywhere, but in Northern Virginia, many things can be recycled successfully and easily!
What are these? 
TOP:
These are cables and cords from old computers, printers, and technology that is no longer being used. I took these items to Best Buy where they have an excellent electronics recycling program.
BOTTOM:
These are old markers and highlighters that don’t work very well. There is also a pair of headphones that don’t work.
I took the markers and highlighters to Staples, which has a generous office supply recycling program!
