Handling excess items

Empathy Always Comes First

In every circumstance, I always consider the needs and feelings of the client. Every client has a different lifestyle and way of doing things. I am not there to judge. I am considerate and empathetic when organizing a client’s home and restoring it to its sanctuary.

Logic and Ideas Come Next

After having completed many home organization projects for clients in the last two years, I have developed a good plan for how to manage a client’s excess items.

Too many baby items, office supplies, computer cables, office binders, utensils, or other? No problem!

Depending on the specific item, its condition, and the quantity, I may suggest disposal, recycling, or donation.

In all instances, I work with the client and get their feedback. I do not make these decisions independently. I make sure to have a collaborative conversation to manage any excess items.

Disposal, Recycling, or Donation?

Items that are very dirty or worn with obvious damage will be thrown in the garbage. If items appear to have a useful life, careful consideration will be given to determine where it needs to go.

Donating items is a wonderful charitable practice that coincides with home organization and helps people at the same time.

Recycling is a great ecofriendly option when items can’t be donated.
